Paste any IBAN and we'll verify its structure, country format and checksum in an instant — before a typo costs you a returned payment fee.
An International Bank Account Number identifies an individual account across borders. It packs the country, bank, branch and account into one standardised string.
The first two letters are the ISO country code (GB, DE, FR…). The next two digits are a checksum computed over the whole number.
The following characters identify the institution and branch — in the UK, the BIC code and sort code; in Germany, the Bankleitzahl.
The remainder is the underlying account. Together, the full IBAN can be up to 34 characters, and each country fixes its own exact length.
FastXE accounts come with dedicated local receiving details — including named IBANs — in your business's name.
